Cardboard Boat Race

So Much Fun.......Our Cub Scout Den had a cardboard boat race in a community pool.  Over the past three weeks each boy built their boats at home and it was amazing to see all their designs this morning.  This was a challenge since the only materials they can use is Cardboard, Duct Tape and Styrofoam.

After being in the water a few minutes, his boat melted.

There were quite a few that tipped over, rolled over and totally disintegrated.  But all in all they all had some really incredible boats.

There was only one boat that not only survived the race but survived eight boys jumping all over it.
There was three rolls of duct tape holing this boat together. They were all such great sports about it that they are starting to think about what kind of boat they are going to build next year.

Well.....he did not win.  But his speech was outstanding.  He was so  calm cool and collected.  Me on the other hand.....I was so nervous for him and proud of him I was shaking.

Just click on the link and see his great speech.
