I am the event coordinator for the Cub Scout and I started working on this event five months ago.
I reserved The National Guard Armory in St Augustine. Ordered the food from Benito's Italian Restaurant. Ordered two large sheet cakes from Publix and made the picture Year Book / Program.
Our Pack gave our boys a really great experience & adventure of a lifetime. I feel confident the Boy Scout Troop we have joined, will not disappoint these young scouts enthusiasm for a great experience.
This event space is very large and needs a lot of decorations to make it feel like a Ceremony.
I taught myself how to make flower balloons. They are inexpensive to make and makes everything look festive.
The Cake for this event had to be very special for the Webelos II crossing over to become Boy Scouts.
I got two full sheet cakes from Publix and decorated them. I had Publix put a picture on one cake that represented Cub Scouting and on the other cake I had them put a picture on the cake that represented Boy Scouting. I made some Boy Scout bodies from Fondant and attached the Webelos II heads to the bodies. I used a gigantic Hershey's chocolate bar for the bridge. The tent is made from gram crackers. The fire is out of stick pretzels and the tree's are made from waffle Ice cream cones, covered in butter icing.
The boys could not wait to get their Mini Me Boy Scouts and eat them.
The cross-over was very meaningful. The Boy Scout troop that we are going into really made it a very special ceremony. Before each boy crosses over the bridge he is stripped of all Cub scout awards. Then they cross over with his parents. The Boy Scout welcome the new Troop member by putting on Boy Scout epaulets
The Boy Scouts welcoming The Cisco Kid in their Troop by Putting on their new Epaulets.
He is so happy to start his new adventures.
